ICAR-KVK West Siang Celebrates Kisan Diwas as part of Swachhta Pakhwara
ICAR-KVK West Siang, Basar celebrated Kisan Diwas on 23rd December 2018 at Nyigam village. A total of 86 participants were participated in the programme. The programme was graced by Mr. Jumken Basar, Head Goan Burah of Nyigam village. During the programme Dr. Moloy Sarmah Baruah,ACTO Animal Science and Head in charge of the KVK delivered the key Note Address and encouraged the farmers for scientific way of farming system to increase their income. Dr. K Suraj Singh SMS Plant protection and organizing secretary of the programme highlighted the role of farmers in the improvement national food security and income in his welcome address. He also mentioned important role of Hon’ble Former Prime Minister of India Shri. Chaudhary Charan Singh. A. Kirankumar Singh ACTO-Agronomy briefly explained the technology and component which is applicable in this region for integrated farming system. Dr. Rita Nongthombam ACTO PB advised to the farmers for not to keep the field empty after paddy.Mrs. Bharti Saloi Prog. Assistt. Home Science coordinated the programme. During the programme 10 progressive farmers were honoured by the Chief Guest Shri Jumken Basar by presenting Agricultural tool kits. Programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by A. Kirankumar Singh, ACTO-Agronomy.
